New York State law ensures life-saving epinephrine access for all
Founded by Jaime Weinstein, EpiAccess was born from witnessing how economic disparities create life-threatening gaps in emergency care. Learning about a child dying from anaphylaxis because they did not have epinephrine due to its high cost, my mission became clear, to ensure everyone has access to epinephrine. Through landmark legislation, New York has established the legal framework to make this possible. We are now partnering with businesses, schools, child-care centers, senior facilities and public spaces across NY to turn these laws into a life-saving reality. Epiacess.org will put Epinephrine auto-injector pens in public spaces, accessible to anyone who needs them in an emergency.
Requires NY childcare programs to implement allergy action plans and stock epinephrine auto-injectors.
